I think the man in the photo aircraft spotter at St. Paul's
cathedral is my father Frederick William Ferris. Do you have any
more information on who took in, I am also lead to believe it
was made into a poster. Can you help?

Its amazing that sometimes you go to a
place & you get the feeling you've been there before. Although
im only 47 old. My parents lived for sometime in outback N.S.W.
And moved I there for 18 months & had this strange sense of
belonging there, I felt comfortable like I was in my own
element.

my case they hail from Wakefield. Primarily a family of boat
builders they worked on the wide boats of the Leeds Liverpool
canal, settling in Accrington (my home town) circa 1861.

Very useful and well written history of the railways. I am
researching my family who were all employed in the railway and
moved from Oswestry to Liverpool some time in the early 1800's
they were either employed as a rail way fire man engineer of
breakman! I am trying to understand what these jobs entailed

I am trying to search all possible links and I am hitting a
lot of dead ends. I realize this is in part because I have
limited information to start with.
Researching:
I am looking for William Ward. Born about 1850 in England. He
emigrated to the United States around 1885. He married Mary
Morgan around 1883. Mary was born in Wales. They had 2 children
while in England. Laura born in July 1883 and Arthur born in
April 1885. I have no names for parents or other information of
William or Mary. Information I have is from family ancestors and
US Census.
Family gossip has it that he was married before in England
and may have left a family there. Any help in finding
information about William and Mary would be greatly appreciated.

with my ancestors in the UK or anywhere else they may be.
By vocation I am a school teacher. I teach middle school
