Good evening;

I am curious to see your family tree as my husband's name is Ward Stuve. His grandmother Chrissie Ward was from England and passed away about 4 years ago at 103. Mark (my husband)'s father was Alan Ward and his wife's name was Erika, his sister's name is Cathy. Alan passed away after crashing his plane when he was in his early 30's and Erika re-married to Heinz Stuve.

I'm new on the computer. The last few month I have studied all I can about WW 2 and what America has done. I read things of what my own mother has seen in her life time as a little girl trap in China during the war and had not talked about since. I'm happy what I read on things had not been talked about during my school years, especially my high school years.

Found this site by accident and was intrigued as my father, Joshua Finney was a 'Desert Rat' in the Second World War and proud to be so. He hardly ever spoke of the War, but my Mother had Items he'd sent or brought back from North Africa.

He also had terrible nightmares for years after the War, as I'm sure many others did, after the horrors they'd been through.

I'm new to this, in fact I just googled the name to see what came up. Mt grandfather, Ernest Ward, had Luton written on his marriage certificate and I have no idea where the family came from before residing in Aylestone a hundred years ago. I did find an Ernest Ward registered birth in Ireland using a friends search program a few years ago and I have been intrigued ever since. My great uncle Jack (John) was a councillor in Leicester and I've heard we have relatives in Liverpool. I am amazed at the amount of work you have done, it is a wonderful site.

Thomas Taylor, Said to have been brickmaker with a large staff. While he had One son, Josiah we know nothing of the other members of the family whom we understand were all older than himself( Possibly as many as 10 others). While Josiah said he was a native of Ashton, we can find nothing to substantiate this.

Do you have any references as to Brickmakers in and around Manchester including Ashton and Salford between 1800 to 1840?

Also Josiah Taylor was said to have worked on the construction of Railway line From Liverpool to Manchester. Do you have any references to workers constructing that line ( Or others in that area )from around 1825 to 1833?

Any help or suggestions appreciated thank you Allen Taylor

Very informational. I am a Canadian and my father fought in the second world war but would never talk about it. I use to go to the Remembrance Day services with him and my mother and to see how proud and honoured these veterans were when the National Anthum was played is something that everyone should see. This was 30 plus years ago when there were still lots of veterans still alive. I found it was an honour just to be there and to witness something like this.

God bless each and every one of them.

My family name of Nuttall suggests that our family originated from the village of Nuttall in Ramsbottom. The crest, as published in the Lancashire Life many years ago, is a shackle bolt and my son unfortunately included it on his website. An angry communication from the USA followed accusing him of being descended from a Slave Trader, which I, so far, have been unable to confirm or prove to be untrue.

I was born in Ramsbottom in a house which was built by one of the Grant brothers in 1819.

My grandfather (Bryan Hemingway, Horbury, West Yorks) father died many years ago, and his mother Sarah Ann Hemingway met another man, George Ward (I think in the 1970's).

Unfortunately Sarah Ann (known as Sissie) died a couple of years later, and George Ward died shortly after. George had no children, but his nieces and nephews were bequest the house.

The locks were changed and everything from the house including personal documents and effects belonging to my family were removed.

I recently started my family tree, and I wanted to make an appeal online. If anyone has effects or documents in their family, and they are not sure of their origin and they are clearly not from the Ward family it would mean so much to me and my family (my Granddad can't talk about it) if you could find out their origin or just contact me.

There is a big gap in my family history, and I hope these documents can solve it.

Thank you for your time, and if anyone has any leads, however small, please get in touch
