I have recently been so fascinated with period dramas, and everything on Victorian period in Britain. I greatly enjoyed the info. on the Cotton Mills as I had just watched a production from BBC "North and South" Living in America and our lack of a long history, I have always been fascinated with England's.

I enjoyed your website especially the photographs of a time and era gone by.

Richard Ward (20 December 1856) came from Sussex, England. He was one of 12 children. His father was called George. Richard married Frances Taylor.

They immigrated to America in 1883, settling first in New York and then later in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The names Artemus Edgar, Robert, George, and Richard are prominent as first names for our Ward family

I should be properly ecstatic if I were able to trace our roots further back in England.

Back for another visit.

I visited the old Rowlands graveyard last week and what a sorry state it is in. I was bitterly disappointed at being unable to find the graves of at least 3 of my ancestors are buried there, and was not ashamed to shed a tear. It has taken me a long time to discover where they are.

Peter, please let me know what I can do to help in your request for funding from the Heritage fund.

best wishes

Back for another visit following your very informative email information which you kindly sent to me. It is tragic that the old graveyard has been so neglected, particularly because my ancestors are most likely buried there, but I will be going on another expedition to find their grave.

I have also gained much info on the beautiful village of Summerseat.
