Hi, I came across your site searching for my ancestors.

I know from talking to Nancy Millichap that a Miss Shakespear of Warwickshire married a Mister Millichap, and wondered if Mary and William were they.

I am still looking, but so far its a great site. I am trying to trace the origins of the name Ward. Recently my Great Grandfather passed on but not before sharing years of history with us about the family that goes back before the Civil War.

I am also trying find when our branch immigrated from Britain into Savannah GA with the other settlers.

The best site. So easy to follow.

This has been a thought provoking journey, especially with regard to Summerseat and Rowlands Church. My ancestors went to the local school 1800s.

Looking to see what can be done to clear up the other part of the Rowlands graveyard.

Thank you Peter and family

Hello Peter, I may have emailed you before some time ago.

I am the Great, Great, Great Grandaughter of John Chapman (1821). His father was called Robert but I have no further details as yet.

Jane Reece's father was called Thomas.

Good luck with your continued searching.

While I am researching the surname Ward, I also am researching Warburton. This family was in Bury, Lancashire and were involved with the Cotton Mills, It was great to see the picture of the Weavers Cottages and wonder if they were near Ormond Street or Rochdale Road? You have done a great presentation and it was enjoyable to review all of the work you have done.

Thank You.

My grandfather Frederick Charles Ward was born in San Francisco July 1898. He was in the earthquake and survived after being separated from his family for a week. He had a sister named May and a wife named Gertrude. My mothers name is marilyn.

If you can help me with my search please contact me.

Looking for my cousins in England. Descendants of Ashworth Ward who married Alice Simpson in Haslingden where they had their family and then moved to Burnley in the late 1800's and early 1900's.

Children: John William, James Robert, George (I'm his great-granddaughter - he moved to Australia), Emma, Edith, Sarah Alice.

Ashworth also had a brother named William who married a Betsy.

Children: Fred (married Harriet - had one child Flory - moved to Liverpool?), James William, Annie, Rennie (possibly Renaie), Maggie, Eleanor, Harry, Bertie.

Any help would be appreciated to find my relatives.

Many Thanks, Jen

Very interesting & useful site--there should be more like it. I was hoping to find traces of Michael Ward and his son, Edwin T. Ward, of Harborne near Smethwick, Staffordshire, "Timber Merchants" who went out to Vancouver Island in 1892 and are listed there in the 1901 Census for Victoria, B.C.
